Fight diabetes with knowledge
Fight diabetes with knowledge

It is always difficult to deal with someone who doesn’t speak your language! Dealing with diabetes is no different.

To beat diabetes, get yourself acquainted with the below for the diabetes’ ABCs

“A” stands for “A1C” test

Short for hemoglobin A1C. It is a blood test that shows what your average blood sugar level has been for 3 months. Your lucky number for the best A results is below 7%.

If your A1C within normal range, then your blood glucose level is under control. Controlling your blood glucose levels will help prevent diabetes’ complications.

“B” stands for “Blood pressure

Your lucky number for the best B results below 140/90 or lower in some cases.

Controlling the A only is not enough. Diabetics need to control their B as well. That will keep you safe from heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease.

C” stands for “Cholesterol”

Keep your C devil controlled below 100.

Waxy, fat-like substance made by your liver. Blood cholesterol is essential for good health. Your body needs it to perform important jobs, such as making hormones and digesting fatty foods. Beware! It is a joker, some of it is good (HDL) and some is evil  (LDL) .

When your body has too much LDL cholesterol, it can build up on the walls of your blood vessels forming “plaque.” As your blood vessels build up plaque over time, the insides of the vessels narrow, blocking blood flow to and from your heart and other organs. When blood flow to the heart is blocked, it can cause angina (chest pain) or a heart attack. High cholesterol is another factor that increases your risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other serious health problems.

“S” stands for “Smoking”

From all angles, Smoking is just bad for your health.

When you control your ABCs, you can easily beat diabetes. Compared with people who do not have diabetes, people who have diabetes are 2 to 3 times more likely to have a heart attack or a stroke.

Don’t be shy to initiate discussion, ask your doctor about your ABCs target and means to reach them.

Check how TABIBI wellness program can build up with your ABCs to control diabetes.

Best medical experiences ever ~ Rania

Today my son had an accident resulting in a large deep cut on the back of his head. Dr Radwa came round and was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She phoned the local hospital to arrange the stitches, took us there with her driver, arranged everything and stayed with us whilst my semi hysterical 2.5 year old received a numbing injection and 3 stitches. She absolutely went above and beyond. My son is still asking about the doctor!

Outstanding service. Thank you ~ Jen
